THERAPEUTIC MOLECULES VS. STEM CELLS
All normal cell’s DNA machinery are programmed to produce their exacting differentiated phenotype’s MOLECULES.
The MOLECULES that are produced are many times more complex than their original DNA programmed GENES, which contain only 4 base pair molecules.
These differentiated cell’s produced MOLECULES maintain that specific cell’s interal structures, but are also the work-horses of the these cell’s intended “THERAPEUTIC CAPABILITIES” when they get transported through their extra cellular membranes and into their external environment.
A question now arises: Why would anyone want to use STEM CELLS of any type for therapy? Unless the cells come from the same individual as autologeous cells, in which the body would recognize as self, because it is self. Usually bodies do not recognize any other type of foreign cells nor STEM CELLS from any source other than self. Expensive drugs are obliged to be used in order to weaken the immune system to over come rejection reactions to foreign cells!
These STEM CELLS are still obliged to produce the required MOLECULES as the actual therapeutic agents before any clinical efficacy can occur.
CONVERSELY: MOLECULES locally applied to pathological sites have been seen to attain the effective clinical therapeutic results, usually without side effects.
CONCLUSION
There is evidence that MOLECULES can produced efficacious clinical therapeutic agents.
STEM CELLS can serve as a source, with MICROBIOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES, for producing the MOLECULES needed to fulfill the promise of REGENERATIVE MEDICINE.
